On a beautiful evening, that looked full of promise, with a large number of clouds in the sky, I thought I would take the opportunity to visit a relatively local landmark here in Leicestershire in the hopes of capturing a dramatic sunset.
Beacon Hill is one of the highest points in Leicestershire and lies between Leicester and Loughborough offering some quite spectacular views across the Leicestershire and South Derbyshire countryside.
Unfortunately though, as the sun began to set, the clouds just seemed to dissipate, they were certainly not moving, they just seemed to gradually evaporate, but I did like the starburst effect that my Canon EF L F4.0 16-35mm lens produced, which does give the final image a bit of punch.
All in all though it was a bit of a disappointing evening with all of the clouds just dissipating, but the views were quite spectacular, and it was good to be behind the camera lens and at one with nature again.
By the time the sun was saying its final farewell for the day, there was very little cloud cover remaining, but these are the trials and tribulations of Landscape photography, we just have to go along with the conditions that nature and Mother Earth provides for us at the time.
